The mute swan has been the national symbol of Denmark since 1984. In the 19th century, the Danish poet and writer Hans Christian Andersen wrote and published the fairy tale “The Ugly Duckling”, with which he glorified his name and Denmark. Since ancient times, people have worshiped, revered and loved these graceful, magnificent creatures. The swan personifies beauty, purity, nobility, wisdom and romance of relationships. This is a symbol of marital fidelity.
